Default Brass Technician Looking for More Expertise

I work on brass instruments as a hobby. I like the work I do, but I'm finding that I can't swing a hammer like I used to without getting a lot of hand pain the next day. Looking for techniques that involve less banging and more finesse.

I also work as an English Professor, but I promise I won't edit your posts.

I used to repair saxophones and the like. It’s more rubbing and burnishing. Than hammering. I made a small slapper out of an old file. Which was great, as it was not to heavy. There are specialist tools that can be bought for musical instrument repairs. But there are expensive.
