Default Yukon Canuck...and yeah...I'm interested..

...In metal shaping.

I heard if all I had was a stump and a baseball bat I could build an aston martin....so I'm here to see if that's true.

Greetings from the land of the midnight sun....

Bobby, welcome hope you can learn what you want here. Think you will need some metal also and maybe a couple of other things to make the Aston Martin. Thanks for joining us.

Default stumped Aston Martin

you will need the stone axle and masons chisel to work out most of the engine components .
Warning lopsided human bodies can be a side effect of taking on this Aston challenge .
You have secured the rich uncles finances, the loving wife that will let you commit the non stop years of you life and feed house and provide medical benefits and keep subsequent children out from under foot till they are old enough to help?
Wow we are impressed Lets here a round for the gent up in Canada

Ok it starts with dreams and is made possible by passion and hard work , but seldom possible with out help and inspiration from others .
I think thats what this forum is about.
It is amazing how far you can go when yor heart is driving .

Hey welcome BobbyMagee

Default Thanks for the hello's.............

I'm mostly into bikes but invariably I run into situations that require finessing of metal.

I do ok with dimensional stock when it comes to fabbing but pretty much lack all but the very basics (read...don't know shit) when it comes to shaping sheet metal.

6 days a week and 11 hours a day is what I spend at my little rented shop and have become a little burnt out lately; researching metalshaping seems to be a good focus while the grinders and welders remain idle for a time.

Obviously metalshaping is a trade unto itself and I don't expect to become a master but I'd enjoy learning a few tricks.

This is my current build...

I started a blog recently....mostly pics of this build so far but some other bits as well....

Thanks again!
