Hello from the edge of Texas (El Paso, TX that is!)
My name is Steve McGinnis. I joined up to see what the rest of the world is doing these days. I started when I was a kids, working on antique car restoration with my father. I quickly became involved with hat rods, 4x4s, and motorcycle building as a young man. Studied mechanical engineering. Worked as a machine designer in a machine shop, Later worked for a large company as a designer of large metal code vessals, used in the petroleum, petro chemical, and atomic energy industry, overseeing the flayout and fabrication in a very large company. Worked for Sterns-Rogers, designing petroleum, petro-chemical, and coal gasification plants. Ran a local metal fab shop for several years.
I am retired now - well for the most part, which gives me time to play more. Still do automotive restorations. I build hot rods, 4x4s, motorcycles, experimental aircraft, prototype machinery and projects (sometimes for others). I use an extensive array of equipment I have acquired over the years. Sheet metal equipment, black smithing equipment, welding equipment, machinist equipment, woodworking tools, etc. I also have industrial sewing equipment that I use to do upholstery on my different projects. Into the "Maker" scene, as well as DIY CNC machinery, and "open source" projects. I am an inventor, a designer, aan a fabricator. Probably like most others that join this group. Look forward to being here!
Steve (AKA: McBlitzen)
