Welcome to allmetalshaping Tim.

Look around the forum and you may get the impression that you have to own every machine possible to do metal shaping but I believe that everyone should start by learning to use hand tools. It enables you to get a good idea of how the metal shapes and no matter how many machines you get you will always need the basic hand skills. It also allows you to get started with the minimum investment.

There are threads on here about making a stump and with this and a few hand tools you are away.
