Hello from the UK
Hi everyone,
I'm joining this forum to learn a bit more in particular about aluminium bodies and bucks. I've spent a lot of time restoring steel bodied cars as a hobby and am well experienced in this field but don't have much experience in aluminium. I now have the time to do some work on my Aston DB5 which will involve removing the Webasto sunshine roof and welding in a replacement aluminium panel and also I have a project for which I have been collecting the parts for many years. This is to build a Jaguar D-type copy in aluminium from scratch. Angus |
Hello Angus, welcome to the site from another UK member. there are a good number of members from the UK here. I did the restoration of a DB5 about twenty five years ago. Not the easiest car to restore.

HI Angus welcome to the forum
In the past years I have built a few body on Aston Martin no so much now, but in the mid 80's and early 90's they where very popular here in Australia there was DB2'S DB5'S and DB6'S also built a DB5 GT that was sold in the US, a few Dave Martin V8'S (If I remember right they where call Vintage.) I did love making those panels they where lot of fun. I think I still have the buck for the front nose somewhere? Peter |
