Default Hello from Honolulu!

Hi,

My name is Gordon and I live in Honolulu. I sold the first car I owned, a '74 Corolla SR5, a long time ago because I needed the cash. I recently found a similar car that I'd like to restore, but, surrounded by salt water, there's some rust that I need to repair. Most of the bodyshops here only do collisions, and most of the oldtimers that do bodywork the "right" way have retired. I don't want tons of bondo on the car, so I figure the best way would be to do it myself, if possible. I don't know how to do bodywork, fabrication or how to weld, but I'd like to learn. I also want to find out what tools I need to buy/make, and how to use them. This'll probably take me months or years to learn, but I'm in no rush! I'm hopeful the experts here can offer me some good advice! I'd also like to meet any members that live in Hawaii!

Aloha,
Gordon
