Howzit everyone!

My name is Brian Tompkins, I'm from Cape Town, South Africa. I've been building / making things my whole life, and have been practicing as an Industrial Designer professionally for about 10 years, specializing in the design of high-end catamarans. Needless to say I spend a lot of time immersed in CAD software on my PC! So for me, building things and spending time in the workshop has always been a good way of bringing balance to this. And one practice very much informs the other. I've always held metal-shaping in high regard, but never tried my hand at it properly until a year or so ago, and now I'm totally hooked.

I've got a classic mini project car that I've been busy with for a little while now, starting with the floors and then working my way round, rebuilding patches and panels (and the tools needed to make them!) one by one...
