Hey everyone! Another Noob Intro

Hey everyone! I'm Chris Thomas, I'm a Software Tester by trade, have a strong sense of curiosity about how & why things work (good thing for a tester to have) and a love of cars. Mostly Musclecars but not solely.

While I enjoy working on my car I have just about zero metal shaping experience except for putting a piece of metal in a vice or over some wood & saying "What happens if I..." (curiosity again...)

Why learn about metal shaping? I don't have dreams of opening my own shop or doing it for a living, and most of the sheet metal I need for my current project car (65 Mustang coupe) is available.

The cars I'm attracted to have custom touches that didn't come from a catalog but from the owner/builders imagination. Anything from a custom overflow bottle, a custom valance, custom gauge pod, scoop, brackets, etc. Subtle or wild modification make me just wonder what they are thinking and how they did it - and make me think about what I want to do to mine - but don't know how. I also don't rule out making or refurbing a pre-war a hotrod someday.

Anyhow thats me and the cause of my interest. Looking forward to learning and hopefully 1 day having something to share.
