Default Interested in this art

I've been doing research and admiring work in metal shaping for years now, I'm interested in starting my own journey in learning this art form and I'd like to try my hand at it. That's why I'm here. I don't have a mentor or know anyone who is competent at metal shaping so I'm trying to Learn on the web! I live in Orange County california

Hello Tanner and welcome to the site.

Didn't see your post earlier this week.

Do you have a project in mind?

What tools do you have?

There is a get together in Santa Cruz June 28-29. Try to make it, you will learn a lot.

Ask questions and post lots of pictures, we like pictures on this site.

And again welcome.

Jere

thanks for the welcome, I have a rusty 1968 porsche 912 project I'll be tackling soon making patch panels and metal finishing the body. I'm saving money for some tools but for now i have the basics, mallets & stump, hammers and dollies, welding equipment. I'd love to try to make it to that santa cruz meeting. is there a link to the time and place for that get together?
