Default New to Metal Shaping

Hello my name is Chris. I live in San Diego.

I've been an avid car nut since I was 15 and have completed several restorations. With each restoration I enjoy learning new skill sets.

My last build involved a fair amount of rust repair and minor fabrication, allowing me to practice my MIG welding skills.

My latest build is a 55 chevy pickup and my plan is to replace a few rust spots and learn the metal working skills to smooth out the body. The truck is just a shell and frame and there is plenty of opportunity to practice.

In preparation for the build I bought a Diversion 180 TIG welder and some basic body working tools.

Thus far I've been able to pound out dents on some of the stiffer curved surfaces. I'm now getting into some areas that need some shrinking and have purchased Wray's shrinking disc.

I've learned so much in these forums and hope to continue taking advantage of everyone's experience and willingness to share.

Thanks,
Chris
