Default Rookie metal fabrica?m?

Hi,

My name is Walt & I am from the Iron Range of Minnesota. The Iron Range is where taconite pelletd come from to make steel. Maybe even the steel sheets we use to make panels & parts from.

Anyways, I am here because I want to learn more about metal forming, fabrication, & tools. I have stumbled into this site doing searches for various tools & have found bits of this site. I am for the most part self taught to do some basic fabrication w/some help along the way. I have had to improvise in making pieces as I didn't have a sheet metal brake or foot shear to duplicate the tool tray for my 1940 Ford Tudor.

I like old cars, pickups, & trucks from the early brass cars all the way through the early 70's. I primarily work w/ stuff from the 30's & 40's.

I recently bought a small sheet metal brake. I wiould like to learn how to better utilize my bead roller & I am looking at purchasing a shrinker/stretcher, maybe a planishinghammerI have watched a bit of YouTube videos by Ron Covell & Lazze & that has helped me to learn how I could potentially better use my tools.
