Default Hello from Salem MA

I became a mechanic 25 years ago looking for an occupation that would allow some creativity. I started out with Formula Fords at the Skip Barber Racing school. There I spent a lot of time at the East Coast road race tracks, Bridgehampton my favorite. GTP to vintage, I saw lots of amazing cars fly by.

I wasn't able to dedicate my life to racing and went on to more mundane mechanical work to pay the bills. Since then I've been able to restore a couple of old Indians. The projects take a long time to complete but thats OK, right now kidshaping is my main priority.

Currently I am trying to figure out how to turn an '82 Corvette chassis and tub into a Morgan Plus8. I am in the planing stages using tape, cardboard, wood, strap, etc..to see If I can get the proportions close. I am reading as much as I can on buck building and I look foward to taking a metal shaping class this spring. I want to thank everybody who posts there projects.

Jim
