Welcome to the forum, Van. As far as wheel recommendations, it all breaks down to what is your budget?
There are loads of wheels on the market, many good, others not. For example, the wheel in the forum logo is an excellent one you can purchase outright in several sizes. Additionally, the manufacturer of that wheel is extremely generous in that he has posted free plans for that wheel here, and numerous members, myself included, traded time for money and fabbed their own wheel frames from his plans or from other plans. So then I have to ask: what is your time budget?
Many here also designed their own wheels from scratch and chronicled their build process. Some even machined their own upper and lower anvils. Others purchased anvils and made just the frame, still others bought the anvils and adjuster mechanisms both.
Still others modified cheap wheels sourced from offshore, with varying results.
I am sure others will chime in, but the only specific advice I will offer is that you read as much as you can, as there is a lot of good info here.
