Hello Mark, welcome to the forum, I also work on aluminium bodied cars, the best piece of advice I can give you is to do all your aluminium welding with gas. It takes a while to learn and it is important to have good welds so you don't get flux inclusion but tig weld tend to crack and can cause lots of problems down the line.
