It sure wasn't 'Proper' when he did that back in 1967! Rolls-Royce was outraged at the time. Funny thing is Rolls-Royce Ltd had me fly it to the UK for the 100th anniversary of the company in 2004, it was on display in the RR tent at the Goodwood Festival of Speed along with the first Rolls-Royce 10HP from 1904, the new 100EX experimental car, and the original 1907 40/50 Silver Ghost. They really wanted Lennon's car to display with the others. How times change. They figured the value of these four cars exceeded 100 million US. 24 hour security while they were in the RR tent at the show. After the Saturday night dinner bash in the manor house Blondie played live and Asimo the robot put on a show. As I was an entrant with the car I had a drivers club pass and had the opportunity to sit with Sir Stirling Moss and have a cup of tea with him. I had met him in 2000 when I did the around the world race. One of those weekends one will never forget. Jim.
