High all,

My name is Andrew and live in bradford uk,fancied doing metal fabrication for quite a while and have now taken the plunge after watching the lazze metalshaping vids on you tube.have a deep shrinker stretcher a english wheel and bead roller I liked the idea of lazze's method as smacking sheets of metal wouldn't go too well with the neighbours noise wise.things I want to make are motorcycle fuel tanks first one is for my own motorcyle a triumph t595 tank which is made of plastic and been a sport bike tank also looks very complicated .Had a go this week a making a few bits already or that should be made some scrap already :) so be prepared for plenty of questions.

hi andrew, how's the weather in bradford? i'm originally from down the road in sheffield.

i believe the term scrap pile is incorrect, although i have made plenty of them in the past...

Hi Andrew,

Welcome to all metal shaping. There is no such thing as quietly shaping metal. A shrinker and wheel will work quietly enough but what about dressing out the welds and all the ripples and marks you get from the shrinker?. He tig weld so all the welds have to be ground down and planished.

Hi

I should have probably said slightly quieter and that I can do some metal shaping after work and leave noisier parts for a weekend during the day.just taken dog for morning walk and the weather is wet and miserable .

Welcome to the site Andrew. I spent considerable time in Harrogate a year ago, so I'll have to agree on the weather.
