New Member, knows nothing, wants to learn
Last summer I was in the process of installing a new starter motor on my 1972 Food F100 pickup. While laying under the vehicle I began to realize how much I missed working with my hands and how so much of my work was spent in meetings. I decided to begin a frame-off restoration. That led me to taking a 9 hour welding course at a local maker-space business in my town. Although I totally sucked and my early welding was just awful, I discovered that I just loved it. So I enrolled in a welding program at our Community College. I have begun to put together a nice workshop. I have the advantage of using space in one of our warehouses that is connected to my office. Working on my truck, practicing my welding is very much a form of meditation for me. It is also very good to learn new skills after the age of 60. It helps to stave off dementia. I am joining this forum in order to tap into everyones knowledge and learn more about something that I want to get really good at.
